Concern on the streets

The team have been hugely successful. Thanks to them, there has been a considerable increase in the number of people that Concern has been able to assist in some of the poorest countries of the world.

The team also won the award for Best Campaign for Donor Recruitment from the Institute of Fundraising and Professional Fundraising Magazine in 2003.

Why regular giving?

Regular giving allows us to respond more rapidly than ever before to emergency situations. The promise of a regular gift is also one of the most practical methods to ensure we can plan and budget for our long-term commitments. And because this funding comes from the public, we can ensure it gets to where it’s needed most.

A stepping stone

Several of our Direct Dialogue team have worked overseas with Concern, and some are graduates from related studies. The department is seen by many as a stepping stone to a vocation helping those suffering as a result of poverty. A number of fundraisers have since moved on to other departments within Concern. Code of practice

As there is currently no formal legislation covering this method of fundraising, Concern is a compliant member of the IFFDR in Ireland and the PFRA in the UK. Both of these organisations promote high standards in this method of fundraising and provide regulation by means of a Code of Practice for fundraisers.
