Policies
Concern draws on a number of codes and practices that dictate how we work.
Committed to saving lives
Concern is able to respond quickly and effectively to people who are unable to meet their own basic needs, especially in emergency situations. In all emergency interventions, Concern is guided by the following codes of conduct and practice:
- The Code of Conduct of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Disaster Relief
- The Humanitarian Charter
- The People in Aid Code of Practice in the Management and Support of Aid Personnel
- The Sphere Projects Minimum Standards in Disaster Response
Concern is also committed to the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership International, which improves levels of programme accountability.
Images and messages
We have also been involved in the development of the Code of Conduct on Images and Messages. All signatories to this code have a responsibility to uphold the values of human dignity, respect and equality in all their communications. Click here to find out more.
