Talks were suspended yesterday for five hours at the UN climate change conference in Copenhagen. Suspicions were raised by the African group, supported by the G77 – representing  130 developing nations - the conference was in danger of collapsing the Kyoto Protocol.

My boyfriend has a tattoo of a wave on his arm. He acquired it for free from a guy called Tattoo Lou. Now, I’m far too unromantic to dream about a matching tattoo, but an upcoming event in Dublin has me thinking of waves and tattoos.

Recently I was privileged to spend a few days in the company of a remarkable man. I first met Kenny Matampash in Kenya in May. A member of the pastoralist Maasai people, he runs a local NGO – Neighbours Initiative Alliance – that provides support to his fellow Maasai.
