Chad Update

Chad is a new country of operation for Concern so there is so much to do. The neighbouring crisis in Darfur, as well as internal conflict, has forced over 170,000 to flee their villages in fear of attack. Now the Chadian people, in camps for the displaced, are facing a desperate winter. To hear more about the challenges faced by the families in the camps, listen to the podcast of an interview with Andres Felices, a project manger for Concern in Chad.

Janadesh Land Rights March.

Land Rights March in India

The Janadesh, or 'People's verdict', march has seen 25,000 participants march 350km to Delhi since October 2 in a bid to shame the government into keeping its promise to redistribute farmland. The marchers are asking for pieces of land on which they can work to earn their livelihoods. Click the link to watch the short films that capture the atmosphere and energy at the demonstration.

SAVE LIVES FAST

This year the Concern FAST will be on Thursday 29 November. Remember, the act of fasting for 24 hours gives you the chance to participate in an act of solidarity with those that simply don't have enough to eat in the developing world. Not only that, but by raising sponsorship money you can help Concern work with communities to improve their lives in the long term. To register to take part or to donate to the campaign just ring 1850 50 50 55 or go to www.concernfast.org and SAVE LIVES FAST now.
