How we raise money
There are many ways in which money is raised for Concern’s charity work.
Voluntary income
We raise the majority of our income from members of the public. This money is raised through public appeals and from regular gifts by direct debit or standing order.
Donations and events
Income also comes from business donations and sponsored fundraising events such as marathons, triathlons and trekking.
Major donors
Donations from private grant-making trusts, foundations and major donors are also a significant and growing source of income for us.
Disasters Emergency Committee
Concern is a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee, which coordinates fundraising appeals for major disasters overseas. We receive an allocation of the total amount they raise.
Other funders
We also receive funding from organisations such as the UK’s Department for International Development, the Big Lottery Fund, the Asia Foundation, the Scottish Executive and Guernsey Overseas Aid.
More details can be found in our latest Annual Report.
