After much pressure from Stop Climate Chaos, the Irish government has committed to introducing climate change legislation in 2012. But there is more to be done, this time in Rio!

Despite the fact that people in developing countries play no part in creating climate change, they’re the ones who suffer the most because of it. It is our duty to stop climate chaos, take care of the planet and protect the world’s poorest people.

Honouring Frederick Douglass

Yesterday I attended an event in honour of Frederick Douglass. The event launched a new version of Frederick’s book, first published in Ireland back in 1845. The book contains a foreword by President Mary McAleese and I had the honour of writing the afterword.

I’m a member of Concern’s Campaign Academy. It trains students like me to speak out and campaign about issues we feel strongly about.

From Fast to Fastival

This year, the Concern Fast has gone all hip. Basically, Concern Fastival 2010 ( is the same as the Concern Fast of previous years, but this time with a twist. While you’ll still be going hungry for a fantastic cause, this year you get to do so in festival-style. It’s the fast that thinks it’s a festival.
