Stark contrast

Concern's Olive Towey is blogging from the Fighting Hunger Conference. The contrast couldn’t be more stark.
In the beautiful surroundings of Kilmainham Hospital on this balmy autumn afternoon, we’re listening to facts and figures about the scale of world hunger that are really hard to take in.
The room is packed. Looking at the list of people attending, it’s really impressive to see the level of experience and expertise in the room here. But what’s more impressive – and so inspiring – are the people we hear on the video clips, such as this one:
These are people who really know hunger, who experience it, live with it, deal with it, who can speak from their hearts about the reality of hunger. It’s because they’re hungry that we’re here.
