Buy t-shirts for Haiti
Concern Worldwide has teamed up with American Eagle Outfitters to raise funds to rebuild and support schools in Haiti.
American Eagle Outfitters have designed limited edition “Help Haiti Heal” t-shirts to mark the first anniversary of the earthquake. Many high-profile celebrities and stars are supporting the campaign.
Repair needed
A year on since the devastating earthquake in Haiti, 1.3 million people are still living in tent cities in Port-au-Prince and Haiti’s education system is in vital need of repair.
Helping Haiti heal
Providing access to education for children in Haiti is an essential part of the rebuilding process. That’s why the “Help Haiti Heal” t-shirts campaign has been set up: to raise vital funds for Concern’s education programme in Haiti. The entire purchase price of US $15.50 will be donated to Concern's education programme in Haiti, with the potential to raise as much as $1 million.
Concern’s CEO, Tom Arnold, explained:
As part of its constitution, every Haitian has the right to free primary education. However, with an estimated 500,000 children not enrolled in schools before the earthquake and 85 percent of schools damaged or destroyed during the earthquake of 12 January, which killed 38,000 children, helping rebuild and repair Haiti's education system is now more critical than ever before.
Buy your t-shirt
From 3 January, the t-shirts, which were made by Haitians, will be sold in more than 1,000 American Eagle Outfitters stores throughout the US. They can also be purchased online.
Proceeds
The proceeds raised from the sale of the t-shirts will:
- Rebuild and repair two schools that were destroyed during the earthquake
- Train 40 new teachers and school officers
- Provide 1,000 earthquake-affected children with access to primary education
- Equip the two schools with classroom furniture, learning resources and teaching equipment
- Install clean water systems, latrines and sanitation at the two schools
- Ensure that the most vulnerable children in the communities receive a primary education
- Help pay the salaries of teachers
Get on board
Supporters of the “Help Haiti Heal” t-shirt campaign include U2's The Edge, Mark Ruffalo, Sean Paul, Paul Bettany, Shaggy, The Script, Ryan Seacrest, Katherine McPhee and Haitian model and actress Garcelle Beauvais. They want to encourage everyone to buy and wear a “Help Haiti Heal” t-shirt.

Thanks for your interest in helping support the people in Haiti. To answer your question, our funds cannot be guaranteed to go directly to one specific family in Haiti. However, we can guarantee that all money donated to this cause will go directly towards helping the most vulnerable people there. This way we ensure that the people who need our help and your money most will get it. If you would like to donate to this cause you can do so by clicking here.
Thanks for your support.
Can these tshirts still be purchased?
Hello
I'm afraid the t-shirts can't be purchased anymore. But if you'd like to support Concern's work in Haiti, you can make a donation.
Thanks!
Hi, I posted a question here last week about how my middle school students would like to sell some of your tshirts to raise funds for Haiti. Did you get that? I haven't heard back, so I was wondering if you got my question. Thanks, Joe
Hi Joe, yep we got your question - and have forwarded it on to the guys in our US office for an answer. We'll get back to you shortly
Thanks,
Alan
