Debating is back!
The Concern Debates 2010-11 season has kicked off, with schools around the country debating the motion that “Genetically modified organisms are essential in combating world hunger.”
Big impact
We were happy to hear recently that taking part in the Concern debates had a big impact on some young scientists and young social innovators. Watch the video below – maybe that will be you in a few years!
Results
You can see all the results from the first batch of debates here. So far, there have been 16 debates where the motion was carried and 20 where it was defeated. Seems like there were plenty of convincing arguments on both sides.
We’ll be putting up a league table soon so you can follow the highs and lows of your team’s debating year (although hopefully it won’t be as dramatic as the Premiership has been recently!)

wow- what a great motion to start the year with! pretty difficult one though! what does concern think about genetically modified organisms? do you use genetically modified food in the countries you work in?
