Protesting against child labour: photos

As I type, there’s a group of kite-flying, tattoo-bearing, banner-wavers marching down O’Connell Street. It’s World Day Against Child Labour today and the protesters are making their voices heard.

As Lizzy said in her last blog post, child labour is one of those problems that doesn’t seem to be going away. There have been protests and other activities taking place on this day for the last few years. Here’s some photos from previous years’ events:

it is very important to spread awareness, be it through kite flying or tattos. what is the need of the hour is to spread awareness, because what matters is to educate the youth because it is the future of the world..........

Hi Nice reading your article. Regards Ancy

There is good info Tks and have nice day

Children are abused in so many ways in so many countries.  We sympathize with Michael Jackson growing up without a childhood. He will always be a world magnet for children who just like him have no childhood.  They work to feed families. To send siblings to school. To rebuild homes. To buy medicine.  And to dream of an education. These dreams can only happen with our help. The work they are offered is minimal pay -- food for one person -- but they divide with their family. Work they would not brag about.Hunger, poverty, psychological and emotional abuse or physical abuse drives children worldwide to do things no one would ask them to do.  Please expand your program. I need someone to help me support victims in so many other countries.

This is soo mean i think people should do more to stop it. The goverment dosent do much to help children that are labours it is really sad because every child deserves a happy childhood with there familys and friends there is practically no hope for child labours to get further jobs because they have no education. I feel sorry for these children i think something dhould be done!!x

I think children should organise a day to help child labours!!x
