Another year
As we approach the end of 2010, I want to send a note of thanks to everyone who has supported Concern Worldwide’s tremendous work over the past year.
Source of pride
Our work in the other 26 countries where we work has also been of the highest quality and a source of pride. We couldn’t have done all of this without the extraordinarily generous support we received from the public.
Difficult times
All of this work has been done against the background of a very difficult economic situation. This is making it more difficult then ever to secure the funds necessary to do our work.
Leadership
Despite this difficult funding climate, there are many positive developments for Concern as we go into 2011. We expect to continue to play a leadership role in our hunger advocacy at international level. In that context, we aim to co-host, along with Bread for the World, an important conference on child malnutrition in Washington in June 2011.
Thank you
But the main purpose of this post is to say thank you. Our great strength as an organisation is the commitment of our staff and supporters. As we approach the Christmas break, I hope all of you will have a peaceful and restful time. We will return in 2011 rested and ready to continue our work.
