Concern's back at T in the Park
Scotland's biggest music festival is back for another year. Concern will be there for the third time to promote its work and to get support from festival-goers.
Concern’s presentation at the festival is entitled “Unheard Voices”. It focuses on the story of small scale farmers who encompass half the world’s hungry people, three-quarters of Africa’s malnourished children and the majority of people living in abject poverty. There will be a photo exhibition featuring images of small scale farmers in Ethiopia, and Concern staff will be on-hand raising awareness about the problems these farmers face.
Concern has also organised the building of an innovative structure made entirely from recyclable rubbish. This will help with T in the Park’s bid to be the biggest carbon neutral festival in the world. The artwork will be unveiled on day three of the festival.
The festival takes place in the scenic Scottish countryside in Balado near Kinross from the 6 – 8 July. The line up so far includes The Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and Snow Patrol. This year the capacity of the festival has been increased, allowing for 80,000 music fans each day.
