About Concern

We are a humanitarian organisation dedicated to reducing suffering and ending extreme poverty. Since the beginning, over 42 years ago, we have focused on improving the lives of the poorest people. We are delighted to be partnering with Twestival. On 25 March, Twestival will rally support in hundreds of cities for our education work.

What we do
We tackle the root causes of extreme poverty. We do this through education, as well as health, HIV and AIDS, livelihoods and emergencies.

Tweet about education

At least 72 million children around the world are not enrolled in school.
Children, especially girls, in many parts of the world are forced to spend hours fetching water, and often do not attend school as a result.
More than one in ten children living in the developing world never get the chance to go to school.
Children of educated women are healthier and much more likely to be enrolled in school.
An extra year of primary school raises a girl’s lifetime wages by 10-20%.
