International Women’s Day Reception

One billion people go to bed hungry everynight. Women make up 60% of this figure, despite the fact that they produce the majority of food in developing countries.

To mark International Women’s Day 2010, Concern Worldwide, ActionAid, and
and the APPG on Agriculture and Food for Development are having a reception in the Cholmondeley Room, House of Lords.

The Baroness O’Loan DBE will open the event, which aims  to highlight the important role women play in the fight against hunger.
