Photo exhibition

The Women of Concern photography exhibition will feature photos from three of Ireland’s top photographers – Kim Haughton, Marie McCallan and Brenda Fitzsimons. Photographs will be exhibited from Concern’s work with women’s development

projects. These images tell powerful stories of hope, determination and survival from Bangladesh, Ethiopia and post-earthquake Haiti.

This exhibition will take place in the Gallery of Photography, Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin, from 3 to 24 March. Admission is free.

Concert in Cork

The photos will also be exhibited during a lunchtime concert in Cork’s City Hall. This concert will be presented by Lord and Lady Mayor of Cork, and will take place on 8 March. The Irish Sopranos, Wendy Dwyer, Kay Lynch and Deirdre Masterson will be performing. They’ll be accompanied by local school choirs.

Tickets for this event cost €20 and are available at Pro Musica on Oliver Plunkett Street. Tickets are also available on Fridays and Saturdays from Brown Thomas on St Patrick Street. All funds raised on the day will be split between the Women of Concern group and the Cork Sexual Violence Centre.
