Street and church gate collections

Thanks to the massive support of communities nationwide, Concern’s street and church gate collections raise over €300,000 a year.

Concern uses this money to help some of the poorest people in the world make lasting changes to their lives.

A long-standing tradition

street gate collection

Collections are a tradition for Concern; some have been taking place for over 20 years. Individuals, groups and schools all over Ireland collect for us throughout the year.

Getting started

Before you begin collecting in any public place, we have to get a permit from the Gardaí. To collect money outside church gates, permission must also be obtained from the parish priest. Don’t worry though – we look after getting these permits for you. All you have to do is make sure to contact us a few months in advance.

We’re always looking for volunteers to take part in collections. If you want to join in, email collectionsireland@concern.net.
