School speakers
Would your school like to learn more about development issues? Let us know and we will send one of our school speakers to visit you. Just email schoolspeaker@concern.net.
Talks and workshops
Dee Clare is one of Concern’s school speakers. During her visit, she will show students many of the items distributed in times of an emergency. She will also demonstrate how to check if a child is malnourished.
Bake a Difference
Dee is also speaking to students about Bake a Difference, a great fundraising event that brings together classmates, teachers, parents and friends over a slice (or two) of cake. Many schools are taking part by holding a cake sale and donating the proceeds to Concern.
The money you raise will help us tackle hunger in some of the poorest communities around the world. You can register for free today by emailing bakeadifference@concern.net.
Trip to Kenya
Dee recently travelled to Kenya with representatives from Cashel community school who participated in the Concern Fast. While in Nairobi, she met school children from the slums who have dreams of being pilots, authors and engineers. Now Dee is speaking to students all over Ireland about children from Kenya and the lessons we can learn from the developing world.
Concern Fast
Clare Quigley is visiting schools to talk about Concern’s Fast, an event where people go hungry for 24 hours to raise money for Concern’s work. You can contact Clare by emailing schoolspeakerconcern.net.
