Eating Christmas turkey under the African sun

A recent article in Woman's Way magazine featured Concern's very own Louise Finan and Brid Barret, both of whom will be spending the festive season in Africa. Louise is working in Malawi, Brid in The Democratic Republic of the Congo. The article was written by Deanna O'Connor and Aisling O'Toole.
Louise Finan is based in Malawi as a Communications Officer for Concern. She will be spending her first Christmas away from home this year, and the 25-year-old says, “It’s fine. It’s strange but it doesn’t feel like it’s Christmas. I’ve been in over 30 degrees heat since June. I see the decorations in some of the shops because we’re close to South Africa so imports filter in and it’s surreal walking into a shop and seeing tinsel everywhere.”
