President of Liberia visits Concern Stand
Wednesday, 6 December 2006
The marking of World Food Day in Liberia was delayed from the usual 16th of October until November 18th so that the President could attend.

The celebration consisted of farmers, local and international NGOs and private companies all exhibiting produce and goods that are of interest to farmers.
In her address before her walk around, the President spoke about the need for better infrastructure so that farmers could get their produce to markets.
The Concern stand reflected the sentiments of the President.
At the Concern stand the staff had designed three miniature bridges: logs, culvert and concrete bridges demonstrating access to a small rice growing area at the end of the "road".
The President and Minister of Agriculture congratulated the staff for their innovative booth and then bought some produce from the local partner.
She then moved on to the HIV&AIDS booth and listened while the staff sang their HIV song.
She donated money to the local partner with whom Concern works. This local partner provides home based care for people living with HIV&AIDS.
