Food Security Update from Mozambique

Mozambique is recovering from a severe drought that affected the country in the 2002/03 agricultural season. In the last season (2003/04), October - December rains were much below normal, but between January and March, there were massive rains in the drought prone areas of interior Gaza, Maputo and southern Tete provinces, substantially improving the food production and the overall food security situation.
