In January 2010, Galet Greffin, a semi-rural area on the outskirts of Port au Prince, was largely wiped out by the Haiti earthquake. Concern Worldwide have been working closely with communities there since the earthquake struck. Eight months on, we look at how the people of Galet Greffin are picking up the pieces.
Since the earthquake that struck Port-au-Prince last January, the level of support demonstrated by the public has been phenomenal. Thanks to this generosity, Concern has been able to help tens of thousands of people in Haiti.
I travelled to Shikarpur, in the Sindh Province of southern Pakistan. I travelled along the main road; all that lay ahead was water, under which entire villages lie – completely submerged, completely destroyed.
