MACE supports east Africa appeal
MACE has teamed up with Concern to raise funds for the crisis drought affecting Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
From mid-September, around 200 MACE stores throughout Ireland will be selling donation cards to help raise vital funds to support our efforts to help 680,000 people in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia.
Donation cards
MACE customers can make a donation to Concern by purchasing a card for €2 at the counter of your local shop. It couldn’t be easier! The donation is processed at the Payzone terminal in the same way as a mobile top-up transaction. Look out for our posters (pictured right) in MACE shops.
Fundraising target
By teaming up with MACE, we hope to raise €50,000. This will help us provide essential food, water, non-food items and shelter to thousands of people on the brink of starvation. MACE managing director, Willie O’Brien, said:
We are shocked by the devastation in the Horn of Africa and wanted to do something to support Concern’s fundraising efforts…We hope that by collecting funds in the combined network of MACE outlets throughout Ireland, we will offer MACE customers a simple and convenient way to show their support. We hope that the campaign will help the African people in a meaningful way.
