Concern welcomes International Day for Disaster Reduction
13 October 2010
Concern Worldwide today welcomed the marking of International Day for Disaster Reduction on the international calendar in a year when the agency’s dedicated emergency response and disaster reduction teams have had one of the busiest twelve-month periods in the organisation’s 42 year history.
“The Haiti earthquake, Pakistan floods and the Niger hunger emergency this year highlight the vulnerability of some of the world’s poorest people to the impacts of climate change and natural disasters,” says Concern’s Disaster Risk Reduction Adviser, Will Devas.
