  • Just Forests

    Irish Woodworkers for Africa (T/A Just Forests) was founded in 1989 in response to global deforestation thus making us one of Ireland's longest established non-governmental development education organisations working solely on global poverty-related tropical forestry/timber issues from a local development perspective. Just Forests uses society's dependence on wood and the on-going decline in global forests as a tool to establish links between the loss of terrestrial biodiversity, "development", conflict and poverty.  (10 Mar 2007)

    Alliance2015 is a partnership of six like-minded non-government organizations working in the field of development cooperation.   • Dochas

    Dóchas is the Irish Association of Non-Governmental Development Organisations. Dóchas brings together Irish NGOs involved in development and relief overseas and/or in the provision of development education.   • Bond

    BOND (British Overseas NGOs for Development) is the United Kingdom's broadest network of voluntary organisations working in international development. BOND was founded in June 1993, and now has over 270 members. BOND aims to improve the UK's contribution to international development by promoting the exchange of experience, ideas and information amongst BOND members, between networks of NGOs in the UK and internationally with the UK government, and between BOND members and other UK bodies with an interest in international development.   (17 Apr 2007)

  • Eurostep

    Eurostep is a network of 19 major NGDOs from 13 European countries. Collectively they work in around 100 countries and have a combined annual budget of over € 650 million. Eurostep was established in 1990 to co-ordinate activities of its members at the European level. Its two principal aims are first to influence official development co-operation policies of multilateral institution, and in particular those of the European Union; and secondly to improve the quality and effectiveness of initiatives taken by NGOs in support of people centred development.   (17 Apr 2007)

  • Disaster Emergency Committee

    The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is an umbrella organisation which launches and co-ordinates the UK’s National Appeal in response to major disasters overseas. The DEC was originally set up by a group of aid agencies back in 1963. It brings together a unique alliance of Britain’s aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to those charities best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need.   (17 Apr 2007)
