Concern Worldwide works in Rwanda with many poor farmers. We know that with the right support the poorest farmers can grow more and eat more and better food.

New report: “Farming for Impact”

Earlier this week, Concern Worldwide launched new research was in the to a packed audience UK parliament. The report is called “Farming for Impact: A Case Study of Smallholder Agriculture in Rwanda.” It shows how Concern and the Rwandan government have helped to reduce hunger in the country.

A partnership to fight hunger

Some time ago, Concern Worldwide began a partnership with Kerry Group [***LINK***] to find innovative solutions to world hunger. Now, the two organisations have launched a new initiative, aimed at improving mortality rates in children under two years of age.

Top of the charts

It was a beautiful day for Concern Worldwide yesterday as the covers album of U2’s Achtung Baby went to number one in the iTunes charts in Ireland just 48 hours after its release. Proceeds from the album will benefit our work in east Africa.

Inspirational baking

Students at Muhammadi Madrasah in Birmingham recently took part in Bake a Difference. They held a bake sale which raised more than £400 for Concern Worldwide.

The G20 and hunger

Disappointingly, world leaders failed to make firm commitments to tackle hunger at this year’s G20 summit. But there is hope – you can email your MP to help change this.

Let the baking commence!

Bake a Difference got off to a flying start yesterday in Concern’s Dublin office. It was a mouth-watering bake-off and the standard of cakes was very high.

Global Hunger Index 2011

The 2011 Global Hunger Index report was published today. The report focuses on the impact of rising food prices on the lives of the world’s poorest people.
