- Women First in Ethiopia
Concern was one of the main sponsors of Women First, a 5 kilometre run for women, that took place in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa on Sunday 1 April. Now in its fourth year, this annual event aims to celebrate the achievements of women in Ethiopia as well as highlighting and promoting women's causes. (16 Mar 2007)

The Great Ethiopian Run, which took place at the end of November in Addis Ababa, was this year graced by the presence of Irish star Sonia O'Sullivan, Olympic silver medalist and the first woman ever to win the World short and long cross-country titles in the same year. (22 Dec 2006)

The UN stated that 67 people have been killed and estimate that over 200,000 have been affected. Over 1,000 cattle have been killed, which communities in this region rely on for income as well as food. (14 Nov 2006)
- Ethiopia: progress but malnutrition levels still high
Concern has deployed a team to the Afar area which began emergency nutrition intervention in two districts, Yalo and Teru. Similarly, in the West Imy Somali region, in partnership with a local NGO, the Mother and Child Development Organization, MCDO, Concern has finalised plans to activate a feeding scheme there. It includes a two month blanket food distribution and feeding project, while a four month feeding plan will target children under 5, pregnant and lactating women and the elderly. (04 Jul 2006)
