Local celebs support the Fast

Patrick Kielty, Christine Bleakley, John Daly and Big O have once again lent their support to the Concern Fast.

Patrick Kielty, who visited Sudan with Concern, says that “Millions of people still go hungry. To stop this we all need to tackle global hunger together. Participating in the Concern fast on the 4 December is a good way to get involved.”

Christine Bleakley urges people to get involved in other ways: “If you can’t go without food for 24 hours, this doesn’t mean that you can’t participate. Just do something else to raise money…Concern strive to make a difference and deserve our continued support.”

John Daly says “I’m just back from visiting Concern projects in Rwanda and I know that the money raised by the Fast gets spent wisely and efficiently. I’ve seen how Concern help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives but they need our support to allow them to be able to do this.”

Big O is participating in a Concern fast “Jail and Bail” event in Buttercrane Shopping centre in Newry on 3 December. He’ll stay jailed until his bail money is collected, so he needs your support. He says “It’s a scandal that there are so many starving people in the world. I’m very pleased to be able help raise money so that Concern can do what they do best and tackle the major issue of global hunger. People don’t have to raise a fortune, but if everyone takes part and raises a little bit then that adds up to a whole lot.”
