Aziza Nasari - Headmistress
The primary school is mixed while the secondary part is purely for girls. As it is a public school and is free the students come from all kinds of backgrounds.

Aziza says
“…during the 80s and 90s the quality of education in Afghanistan was very good but there were very few schools.

Now there are a lot more schools, but the quality of education is very poor because there are not enough qualified teachers.

Because salaries are so low many teachers go to work for NGOs. Organisations like Concern need to help the Ministry of Education to train teachers”

Aziza is hopeful for the futures of the girls in her school saying
“…if peace remains they will have a good chance in life.”
