Nagina's Story - Life Since the Earthquake

Nagina and her childNineteen year old Nagina lives in Lundi Sukhdar village, Mansehra District, NWFP, Pakistan.

Nagina is a married mother of one child; she was pregnant when an earthquake struck her village.

In her own words
“I gave birth to my lovely son Jamal a couple of weeks after the earthquake hit my village.

We spent the first three weeks living in a tent and as a result of the wintry conditions Jamal became ill.

“Concern and their partners Rural Development Programmes (RDP) provided us with the tools, materials and money grants we needed to construct temporary housing.

When we moved in, Jamal’s health improved and both myself and my husband were much happier.”
