Charity fundraising appeals

Concern Worldwide is working to tackle poverty in the world’s poorest countries. We need vital funds to help people transform their lives. One of the ways we do this is through charity fundraising appeals.

How charity fundraising works

Fundraising can be done through a number of different activities. Here are some examples of how we raise money at Concern:

Fundraising appeals

Our fundraising appeals are created when a particular region we’re working in needs special attention. For example, we recently started an appeal for people in west Africa where there have been food shortages. This appeal has helped us to raise awareness of the one million children in the region who are malnourished and need life-saving treatment.

Emergencies

Sometimes there are crises in the countries where we work which need an urgent response. So, we put out an emergency appeal to our donors to ask for help. For example, in 2012 we raised money to help those affected by the cholera outbreak in Sierra Leone.
