Volunteering opportunities in Ireland

Concern Worldwide is always on the lookout for volunteers. Learn about the various ways you can help as a volunteer in Ireland.

Office volunteers

We have a number of volunteers in our head office who generously contribute their services on a part time basis or when specific needs arise. Most of the volunteers assist with light administrative duties in our Donor Care section but some come on board for time limited periods to work on special projects.

Events and campaigns

From time to time Concern requires volunteers to help out with stalls at events and festivals such as Africa Day and Culture Night. We also run campaigns on a range of issues from climate change to violence against women and may be looking for people to sign a petition, send a tweet to their TD or even just share some of our good news stories with your friends on Facebook.

If you would like to be added to our mailing list to receive updates on future opportunities, please email [email protected] with your contact details.

Volunteer at collections

We run collections at various locations across Ireland throughout the year and need the help of volunteers!

Volunteering as a collector is an opportunity to help our work in the world’s poorest countries while also getting to know the local community. And there’s no experience required – a Concern staff member will be on hand to support you along the way.

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer, you can fill out the Volunteer Collector sign-up form or email [email protected] for more information.

Fundraising volunteers

Some members of Raheny Country Market, Vonnie Roche, Sylvia Cullen, Anne Colbert, Máire Uí Bhraoin, June Walsh and Ruth Galvin who raised over €2,000 from their coffee morning in May 2015.

Every year hundreds of volunteers hold table quizzes, run marathons, climb mountains or host coffee mornings to fund our programmes and we always need volunteers with good organisational skills to run fundraising events. We can provide tips and advice on running a fundraiser on any scale so why not have a go!

We’re always on the lookout for volunteers to assist our street and church gate collections. The collections are held nationwide at different times throughout the year and usually involve just a few hours once or twice each year. If you're interested in taking part, please click here to register.
