‘Where There is No Engineer’
On 25 April 2015, a devastating earthquake hit Nepal resulting in widespread damage, fatalities and casualties. The sequence of aftershocks that followed has resulted in landslides, avalanches and the collapse of already damaged buildings. Applicants to this year’s competition should use the current problems and associated challenges that Concern is facing in Nepal as the context for their design. See the full programme booklet for more details.
Sponsored by Davies Suppliers, the winning team or individual will be invited to travel to Nepal to see the challenges first hand and attempt to ascertain the viability of implementing their project design.
Who can take part?
The design challenge is open to both undergraduates and professionals across a range of disciplines, including but not limited to: engineering, health sciences, education and product design.
