Fighting Extreme Poverty in Bangladesh

18 July 2016

As we complete the implementation of our 2011-2015 Strategic Plan in Bangladesh, we collate the impacts of our work.

Concern has worked in Bangladesh since 1972 and has supported a total of almost 3.7 million people. We have reached over 1.72 million people through our contextual development programmes and 1.97 million people through our humanitarian response programmes. We have also tackled extreme poverty by addressing hunger, maternal and child health, primary education, inequality, and disaster risk reduction.

This report provides an overview of the results of our last four years working in Bangladesh. And as we embark upon our new 2016-2020 Country Strategic Plan, we will build on the success of the last four years and continue our focus on reducing extreme poverty.
