Concern receives ICT award

Concern Worldwide recently received the Special Recognition award at the ICT Excellence Awards in Dublin.

The ICT Excellence Awards bring together business people from across the ICT industry to recognise advances in technology in business and technology.

Making progress

Over 400 IT industry luminaries were addressed by tánaiste Eamon Gilmore. Sean O'Sullivan, of SOS Ventures and Dragon’s Den, also spoke about the importance of continuing to make progress in the area of ICT.

Charity award

Concern received the award in recognition of our charity work and advances we have made in ICT. Jim Hynes, Concern's chief operations officer, accepted the award on behalf of Concern with Bernard Gaughan and Barry Roche. Jim said:

This award is a great honour as it does not just recognise the work of Concern as a whole but it also recognises the effort that we all as a department make in ensuring that ICT makes a difference in the impact we have as an organisation.
