Videos: community development in Cambodia

Concern Worldwide has completed its rural livelihoods project: “Strengthening Community Development and Local Governance” in Pursat Province, Cambodia. 

The project ran from January 2011 until December 2012 and was managed in conjunction with local charities and funded by the European UnionThe overall objective of the project was to help eradicate extreme poverty and hunger through community development, empowering the poorest people in the area.

The two videos below outline how the programme has benefitted the community and improved livelihoods in Pursat Province.

Community participation

This video shows how community participation plays a vital role in solving issues around land and community forestry. It also shows how the government responds to the community discussions.

Better lives

This video shows how new techniques are helping poor farmers to get a higher yield of rice for less time and effort.
