Concern and Meath libraries build unity through diversity

Meath County Council Library Service in association with Concern and Suas will host the internationally acclaimed 1000 Families photographic exhibition throughout November and December.

The exhibition is part of the Building Unity Through Diversity project that aims to raise awareness of cultural diversity throughout the world. This is a three-year project that has been to many parts of Europe and Africa and continues to travel throughout Ireland, going to Belfast in 2008.

The 50 colourful photographs on display will be taken from Uwe Ommer’s acclaimed photographic catalogue, entitled “1000 Families – An Exhibition of Planet Earth”. The book features unique photographs of families throughout the world, from over 150 countries, comprising of over 1,250 images. Copies of the book will also be on sale at each of the Meath libraries hosting the exhibition for €20 each.
