Death toll rises in Myanmar

Update: up to 22,000 people are said to have died in Myanmar (formerly Burma) following a cyclone. That number is set to rise and many more are missing, according to reports.

Concern does not currently work in Myanmar, but we are looking into setting up a response.

Concern will be working closely with Alliance 2015 partners Cesvi and Welthungerhilfe who are already on the ground in Myanmar. They are conducting assessments, and we are awaiting their results.

We’ll be receiving updates from Concern’s team in the area over the coming hours and days. More to come soon…
