Top of the charts
It was a beautiful day for Concern Worldwide yesterday as the covers album of U2’s Achtung Baby went to number one in the iTunes charts in Ireland just 48 hours after its release. Proceeds from the album will benefit our work in east Africa.
The covers album was released worldwide on Tuesday and is climbing the international charts and is already number five in the US. It will be released in the UK on 28 November.
The money raised by the album will help our emergency work in drought-affected areas of east Africa. Our CEO, Tom Arnold, said:
This is hugely encouraging and we are delighted the album is doing so well internationally. Concern would again like to express our appreciation to U2 and the other key parties involved for making this hugely significant contribution to our work in East Africa, which is still a global humanitarian emergency.
