Unicef launch their flagship report

Unicef have just launched their flagship annual report, called “The State of the World’s Children 2008”.

It assesses the state of child survival and primary health care for mothers, newborns and children today. These issues are indicators of a country’s development and wellbeing, while lying at the heart of human progress, providing evidence of its priorities.

Investing in mother’s and children’s health is not only a human rights issue, but also a sound economic move, a sure way for a country to work towards a better future.

UNICEF is calling for concerted action to reach the millions of children still excluded from health interventions.  You can download the full report here or the executive summary here.
