Water for all in Tanzania

Concern Worldwide won first prize in the category of mobilisation, education and training in Tanzania at the 2010 Water Week. This year the programme is focusing on “Water in an urbanising world”.

Urban water provision in Tanzania is one of the Millennium Development Goals for 2015. Concern is committed to keeping rural water our focus. This is because according to the 2007 Household Budget Analysis, 80% of the population in Tanzania live in rural areas — 60% of whom lack access to clean and safe water.
