Building Disaster Resilience: vulnerable communities in Orissa and West Bengal

The Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department of the European Commission (ECHO) has supported Concern Worldwide India under the 6th DIPECHO Action Plan for South Asia to implement a disaster preparedness project titled ‘Building disaster resilience of vulnerable communities in Orissa and West Bengal’.

The activities resulted in reduction of vulnerability of the communities where it was implemented. Especially, by implementing well-conceived micro-mitigations measures and facilitating integration of other identified mitigation priorities into the existing development plans the project reduced physical vulnerability of the communities.
