Charities launch joint campaign to end hunger trap

23 January 2013

Concern Worldwide is joining forces with 80 other organisations in the UK and Ireland to pressure world leaders to end the hunger trap.

Here is an excerpt from the press release:

Global hunger could be ended if world leaders reformed a food system which has left 1 in every 8 people hungry despite an abundance of food in the world, leading Irish charities said today at the launch of a major new international campaign.

The ‘IF’ campaign sees Irish and UK development agencies come together to call for an end to hunger and malnutrition. The campaign, the biggest coming together of development agencies since Make Poverty History in 2005, is supported by leading Irish development agencies Trócaire, Concern, Oxfam Ireland, Christian Aid, Tearfund Ireland and Progressio Ireland.
