We are delighted to welcome President Higgins to Ethiopia, said Concern’s Country Director, Kate Corcoran. “His presence in Gambella will draw much needed global attention to the plight of the South Sudanese refugees. The people of South Sudan have had to endure terrible suffering since violence broke out last year. Tens of thousands have been killed, and almost one and a half million are displaced with over 450,000 seeking refuge in neighbouring countries."
