26 June 2016

Concern has confirmed the death of its staff member Dr. Du'ale Mohamed. Dr. Du'ale was Concern's Nutrition Programme Coordinator in Somalia. He died as a result of injuries sustained from a hotel bombing in Mogadishu on Saturday.

Dr. Du'ale joined Concern in 2012 from a lecturing position in Mogadishu University. Dr. Du'ale had previously survived a 2009 bombing when his graduation ceremony was attacked - an incident which claimed his father's life.

Concern CEO Dominic MacSorley said:

We  have lost a remarkable and dedicated staff member, a young doctor who had dedicated his life to others, a caring father who leaves behind a wife and five children. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very sad time.
