DEC DR Congo crisis appeal evaluation

A Disasters and Emergencies Committee (DEC) appeal was launched in November 2008 in response to the deterioration of an already fragile humanitarian situation in Democratic Republic of Congo.

An evaluation was commissioned by the DEC following the initial implementation period in the Province of North Kivu, DRC. Twelve humanitarian organisations were allocated a total of £5.5 million for programmes running for six and nine months. The aim of the evaluation was to review the relevance and effectiveness of agencies’ responses.
