Emergency programme in Masisi, DR Congo

19 February 2010

Concern’s Masisi programme ran from April 2008 to June 2009. The overall goal of the programme was to increase the access to food for displaced people and host communities in villages and camps between Lushebere and Loashi. Written by Rudolf van der Boogaard (MDF Afrique Centrale).

Three intervention areas were recognised to address the needs of a large internally displaced population dispersed around towns, villages and camps in the Masisi Centre area.  These areas are:
  • The distribution of non-food items
  • The distribution of seed and tools
  • Cash for work

This evaluation was carried out by an independent consultant during July 2009. The purpose was to examine the implementation and impact of a programme.
