Neil Delamere launches Concern gifts

07 December 2012

Irish comedian, Neil Delamere, launched Concern Worldwide's Christmas gifts yesterday. He also urged people to "buy a gift that will make a real difference."

Below is an excerpt from the press release.

Launching the Concern Gifts Campaign for 2012, Neil Delamere said; “It is a great honor to jump on board this appeal with Concern. I am delighted to be working with Concern this Christmas and to give a gift that keeps on giving. The gifts are unusual, quirky and great fun to give but the real plus is that they will make a difference for a family living in poverty. Every family deserves a chance at Christmas and that is just what these gifts offer.” Gifts come in all shapes and sizes and prices to suit everyone. For the price of a cinema ticket at €15 you could provide a family with 6 chickens. Over the course of a year this little flock could yield up to 200 nutritious eggs which can be used to feed the family, sell or leave to hatch into a new brood. You could give someone a goat for €40 that would provide gallons of healthy milk for a family plus manure for their crops or a donkey for €45 to carry water and crops making a life changing difference to a family in the developing world.
