In January 2012, Concern’s Pakistan programme will begin the second year of its third Country Strategic Plan (CSP 2011-2015), which was aligned with the Concern Worldwide’s organizational plan during 2011.

In Balochistan, the EU funded ‘Improving Access to Water and Sanitation (IAWS) in Districts Pishin and Qilla Saifullah’ programme will enter into its 3rd and last year of implementation. In Punjab, the ‘South Punjab Livelihood Security (SPLS) Programme’ will continue as planned.

In Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KPK), EU funded ‘Post Floods WASH Rehabilitation Project in Districts Swat and Kohistan’ will continue, as planned. In terms of emergency response, Concern Pakistan will continue implementing the post 2010 floods recovery projects in Balochistan KPK, Punjab and Sindh. During 2012, Concern also plans to undertake recovery projects in the newly affected districts of Sindh due to flooding in 2011. The OFDA-funded “Responding to Pakistan’s Internally Displaced (RAPID) umbrella grant, which was planned to conclude by December 2011, will continue during first half of 2012 with a no cost extension, keeping in view the new flooding and potential savings. In line with the emergency response strategy, Concern Pakistan will continue to work with its emergency partners and maintain our capacity to respond effectively to emergencies across the country.
