Yemen Emergency Appeal

A truly horrifying humanitarian crisis is currently unfolding in Yemen. Over three years of civil war has left 24 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance – that is 85% of the country’s entire population.

I wish to donate:

Over 8 million people have been pushed to the brink of starvation. As the devastating imagery in the news has shown, many of those suffering are children. It is estimated that some 2 million children are malnourished at present.

Millions of people lack access to clean water and sanitation. An outbreak of cholera has affected one million people and the deadly disease has already claimed over 2,000 lives.

Healthcare services have been declining as the crisis grows ever more severe. Every day people are dying from malnutrition and preventable diseases.

We are helping

We are currently responding in Yemen through our partner ACTED. So far, we have helped to ensure access to clean water for more than 197,000 people and supported cash transfers to over 2,000 families. In emergencies such as this, cash transfers enable families to meet their basic food and shelter requirements.

You can help save lives

You can help to protect the lives of vulnerable children, women and men – they need your support now. Please give what you can.
