Reaching millions

In 2025, Concern helped more than 23 million of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people in 27 countries to alleviate poverty and hunger. We also reached 15.7 million people through our emergency response throughout the year.

Dominic Crowley
Concern was founded in 1968 by a small group united by their determination to respond to famine in Biafra. Nearly sixty years later, in a time of immense humanitarian need, we hold fast to that same determination: to ensure that wherever extreme poverty exists in the world, it is still our concern.
Dominic Crowley - Concern Worldwide, CEO

Speaking ahead of the launch of the 2025 Concern Annual Report, our CEO Dominic Crowley highlighted increasing humanitarian needs and the significant decline in overseas development aid funding, calling it the largest annual drop in history.

This comes at a time of heightened geopolitical instability, severely impacting efforts to provide humanitarian aid globally. Despite these challenges, Concern continues its vital work, demonstrating the importance of sustained financial aid to combat poverty and support vulnerable communities worldwide.

Award-winning transparency

We have been formally recognised for our accounting and financial reporting practices on numerous occasions over the years. In November 2025, we received the award for large not-for-profit at the 48th Published Accounts Awards.

This was the 24th time in the last 37 years that we won at the Published Accounts Awards, which is organised by the Chartered Accountants Leinster Society.
